Role: Data Engineer/Scientist

Walkbeat is expanding, and we are looking for a dedicated Data Engineer to join us on our global journey!


Walkbeat is an award-winning start-up based at Sahlgrenska Science Park that is transforming the lives of both, humans and animals. We provide accurate gait insights to professionals so everyone can move better, conduct early interventions, better rehabilitation and improve quality of life. And we do it in the toughest conditions possible with extremely high accuracy and precision.


At Walkbeat Horses, we support some of the top trainers and athletes from the equine world during using the latest wearable technology to accurately analyse the health and performance of their horses. 


Who are you?

  • Background in Machine Learning, Robotics, Signal Processing, Mathematics or similar.

  • Past experience with any of these topics is a bonus: IMU’s or wearable sensors, trajectory mapping, gait analysis, biosignal processing, data visualization.

  • You have a Masters or PhD. If you do not have a college degree but know your trade well, go for it and apply. We want you.

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience, but if you are a newcomer with strong self-belief, do not hesitate to apply.

  • Efficient at Python but can rock up Matlab when needed.

  • Permanent residence permit/EU citizen to live and work in Sweden.

  • If you have a Swedish/EU driver's license (Körkort B), it’s a bonus.

  • If you have ever been around horses, or are a rider yourself, it’s icing on the cake.


What are your responsibilities?

  • Signal processing and machine learning with be your bread and butter.

  • You will work with projects together with the design team to create new features.

  • Once in a while, you will be in the field collecting data and conducting validation studies.
