Role: Lead Software Developer & Product Owner

Location: Based in Gothenburg (On-Site)

Role: Full time, Mid-Senior level

Start Date: Aug 2023, but open to hiring before/after if we find our new team member

Walkbeat Horses sets a new standard in equine sports with a revolutionary way to measure horses' movement patterns. With our product, injuries and lameness can be detected at a very early stage so that training can be optimized. Today, our solution is used by some of the top trainers and we are now looking to scale-up. 


Our vision is to build the world's largest equine database and use that data to help humans with mobility disorders.

Things you will be responsible for

  • Develop and maintain our IoT platform, backend services and mobile app

  • Product ownership and prioritisation of development backlog

  • Design and implement features from idea to production

  • Test and monitor our product and services

  • Working closely with Sales and Customer Experience team to improve user experience

  • Manage a team of developers across the world and collaborate with cross-functional teams

  • Ensure the scalability, robustness, and security of the system

Our tech stack

  • Service-based architecture comprised of an IoT platform, backend services and a mobile app

  • Mobile App: Flutter, Dart and Firebase

  • Backend: Node.js, Python, Docker

  • IoT platform: Qt with C++ and QML, Bluetooth Low Energy and Firebase

  • Infrastructure: Google Cloud Platform serverless services like Google Functions, Firebase, Firestore,  Cloud Storage, Cloud Run and Cloud SQL (Postgres)

Who are you

  • 5+ years of experience in software development

  • Experience with:

    • Product management disciplines e.g. roadmap and prioritization

    • DevOps and agile development methods and tooling

    • Microservices and distributed systems development

  • Flexible and adaptable mindset

  • Problem-solving attitude and accountable

  • Fast learner and strong analytical capabilities

  • Driven by enabling customer insights through technology

  • Team player

  • Good communication skills

  • Good in verbal and written English. Swedish is a bonus
